NEPSE loses 5.99 pts
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) benchmark this week lost 5.99 points to end at 474.63 points in comparison to the opening day.
This week, the capital market saw a trading of 309,700 units of shares worth Rs 127,174,000 in 4,581 transactions. Last week, 9,66,600 units of shares equivalent to Rs 250,966,000 had been in 5,799 transactions.
The transaction amount this week saw a decline of 49.13 percent compared to the last week. The companies categorised as Group ‘A’ alone contributed Rs 57,900,000 to the total transaction amount of this week. Except hotels, the sub indices of all the trading groups experienced decline this week.
The hotels saw a gain of 17.99 points to end at 409.87 points. On the other hand, the hydropower led the downturn spree as it shed 12.94 points to settle at 710.38 points. Similarly, the groups like insurance, commercial banks and development banks fell by 7.78 points, 7.26 points and 6.17 points to rest at 562.88 points, 453.04 points and 488.69 points respectively.
Likewise, the finance and others declined by 6.03 points and 3.52 points to end at 418.28 points and 545.18 points respectively.
The sensitive index, that measures the performance of Group ‘A’ companies, plummeted by 1.27 points to end at 116.43 points compared to the opening day. In terms of number of shares traded, IME Financial Institute topped the list with 45,000 units of shares. The company also stood at the first position in terms of total turnover with Rs 19.74 million.
Likewise, as far as the number of share transaction goes, Asian Life Insurance with 1,189 occupied the first position. source:nepalnews.com
