The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) benchmark index on Sunday-the opening day of share trading-saw a meager gain of 0.36 points to rest at 474.99 points.

In today's session, the inclination in sub-indices of hydropower, commercial banks, finance and insurance companies helped the index to go up, albeit marginally.

The hydopower, commercial banks, finance and insurance rose by 6.04 points, 1.82 points, 0.41 points 0.28 points to end at 716.42 points, 454.86 points, 418.69 points and 563.16 points respectively.

On the other hand, the three groups categorized as others, hotels and development banks rose by 4.7 points, 2.27 points and 1.15 points to settle at 540.48 points, 407.6 points and 487.54 points respectively. The sensitive index, that measures the performance of Group A companies, declined by 0.04 points to finish at 116.39 points.

The NEPSE today traded 50,165 units of shares worth Rs 18,561,830 in 855 transactions.source:nepalnews.com
